An exceptional restaurant
This exclusive restaurant is located in Mexico City’s Colonia Hipódromo Condesa.
It is a haute cuisine experience that reinterprets the flavours of Mexico’s land and sea, particularly from the northern region.
The name is based on the word ‘afótica’, which means without light and refers to the part of the ocean where there is no sunlight and only bioluminescent species exist.
This is the reason why the restaurant has been designed to look like the seafloor, with dark walls and decorative elements reminiscent of a marine environment. And it includes our design furniture for restaurants.
Our furniture for restaurants can be found in the different areas
A historic mansion dating back to the 20th century houses this spectacular restaurant. Inside, it is divided into three separate areas:
Whiteroom
This dining room is for guests who want an intimate, exclusive setting. It has a contemporary, minimalist style and features Vondom contract furniture for restaurants. The tables and chairs are from the Vertex collection designed by Karim Rashid.
Bar
The 19th-century bar is located in the middle of the restaurant, and stools from the Faz collection by Ramón Esteve have been placed next to it. The contrast between modern and classic styles makes this space visually striking.
Vertex collection by Karim Rashid, just like the Whiteroom. The avant-garde furniture by the Spanish brand Vondom, paired with architectural elements such as the large wooden spiral staircase and round windows, and décor that includes an old anchor and marine vegetation, invites diners to feel like they are immersed in the sea as they savour unique dishes and creations. All of these sensations come together to create a culinary experience that awakens the five senses.
This project was carried out by the architects Gergana González Pulido and Francisco González Pulido.
