On this World Environment Day, we would like to share with you our strong commitment to sustainability and how our practices and products, we contribute to a greener future through the use of green energy. At Vondom, we understand that design goes beyond aesthetics; it’s about creating sustainable products that respect and preserve our environment.
Vondom is committed to fostering a greener future through the use of green energy in manufacturing, one beautifully designed and environmentally friendly piece at a time.
Green energy for a sustainable future
Our commitment to the environment starts at the very heart of our manufacturing operations. We are proud to say that all the electricity we use comes from renewable sources, thanks to our installation of 330 KW of self-consumption photovoltaic solar panels.
These panels produce 476,666 KWh per year, allowing us to save 302,965 kg of CO2 emissions per year. This saving is equivalent to planting 20,000 trees per year, a significant contribution to environmental protection.
An effort that allow us to power our production in a sustainable way from 2022, significantly reducing our carbon footprint and contributing to a cleaner and greener future.
Sustainable and responsible materials
At Vondom, we understand that the choice of materials is key to sustainability. That is the reason why in 2022 we are incorporating new materials such as teak wood, legally imported with Indonesian Legal Wood certification, and aluminum, which not only offer durability and style, but also minimize environmental impact.
In addition, we are proud to incorporate recycled polypropylene into our Revolution collections, giving these materials a new lease on life. Adding to the importance of our polyethylene being 100% recyclable, this ensures that every piece of our furniture can be reused, completing the cycle of sustainability.
To further our commitment to environmentally responsible practices, we meticulously scrutinize all raw materials used in the manufacture of our outdoor and patio furniture. Our commitment goes beyond simply using recycled components; we actively seek out sustainable sources and implement rigorous standards to reduce our carbon footprint. By carefully considering the entire lifecycle of our products, from material sourcing to end-of-life disposal, we strive to create pieces that coexist harmoniously with nature while delivering exceptional quality and design.
Training and accountability: Agenda 2030
We are committed to training our suppliers to ensure that everyone shares our vision of sustainability. We actively participate in the Sustainable Supplier Training Program, a project aligned with Agenda 2030 and the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact.
This program focuses on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and corporate sustainability, aiming to educate small and medium-sized suppliers that collaborate with large companies committed to this initiative in Spain. By promoting a common understanding of sustainability practices throughout our supply chain, we cultivate a holistic approach to environmental stewardship.
