In 2008, Vondom was born with the idea of proposing furniture and planters with a clean and bold aesthetic. That pioneering vision has marked our path, pushing us to explore more circular manufacturing formulas, with the aim of improving the connection between people and nature. Today we celebrate a special achievement: ISO 14001:2015 certification, an endorsement that recognises our efforts to reduce waste, optimise processes and apply planet-friendly guidelines.
In 2019, we are starting our own revolution and are championing a new way of interpreting outdoor furniture. This commitment is reflected in collections made from recycled materials, designed to last and, at the same time, pay homage to the environment that inspires us.
Obtaining ISO 14001:2015 is an important chapter in Vondom’s history. It is an international endorsement that confirms the measures taken to rationalise the consumption of resources, reduce waste and strengthen responsible management systems. For us, it is not just a document, but the perfect incentive to continue to refine our sustainability goals.
In addition, in the last two years we have managed to reduce our carbon footprint by 14.13% and, by 2025, we expect to reduce it even further through best practices and efficiency improvements. We are also optimising our procurement process to ensure that it is consistent with our business and minimises our environmental impact.
A journey that starts with natural and 100% recyclable materials
Our connection with nature is evident in our careful choice of raw materials. We work with 100% recyclable polyethylene, polypropylene with recovered content and wood (teak and iroko) partly from FSC-certified forests. We also make use of aluminium, high quality acrylic fabrics and recycled polypropylene carpets.
Each decision seeks to mitigate environmental impact without sacrificing the creative essence that defines our collections.
Clean energy as an ally
One of our greatest challenges is to make use of non-polluting sources. In 2022, we installed photovoltaic panels with a total capacity of 1,021 kWp, generating 1,429,998 kWh per year and avoiding the emission of 908,895 kg of CO₂. This is equivalent to planting 60,000 trees, a figure that encourages us to continuously improve. In addition, we monitor each stage of production to reinforce energy efficiency and avoid waste.
Vision 2030: clear and firm objectives
Looking ahead to the next decade, Vondom has set itself very specific goals. We want to reduce our CO₂ emissions, increase the use of recovered materials and use 100% FSC-certified wood. In addition, we are committed to using clean energy in all our activities and reducing the amount of waste.
Every step is designed so that enjoying life in the open air is completely compatible with environmental awareness. We seek that unmistakable harmony between creativity, durability and care for the planet.
